St. Patrik is the primary Patron Saint of Ireland, along with Saints Brigit and Columba.

At the age of 16, St. Patrik was kidnapped and taken as a slave to Ireland where he lived for six years as a shepherd before escaping and returning to his home.

The shamrock (a three-leafed plant), which St. Patrick used to explain the Holy Trinity, is a symbol that has become synonymous with Irish Catholic culture.

The shamrock has since become a central symbol for St Patrick's Day.

In March of 2011, the Irish bishops' conference marked their patron's feast by remembering him as “pioneer in an inhospitable climate.”

The absence of snakes in Ireland gave rise to the legend that they had all been banished by St. Patrick chasing them into the sea after they attacked him during a 40-day fast he was undertaking on top of a hill.

There are two main types of crosses associated with St. Patrick, the cross pattee and the saltire. The cross pattée is the more traditional association, while the association with the saltire dates from 1783 and the Order of St. Patrick.

Saint Patrick's Bell : The National Museum of Ireland in Dublin possesses a bell, The bell is described as "The Bell of the Testament", one of three relics of "precious minna" (extremely valuable items), of which the other two are described as Patrick's goblet and "The Angels Gospel"

St. Patrick is said to be buried at Down Cathedral in Downpatrick, County Down, alongside St. Brigid and St. Columba, although this has never been proven.

Saint Patrick Visitor Centre is a modern exhibition complex located in Downpatrick and is a permanent interpretative exhibition centre featuring interactive displays on the life and story of Saint Patrick. It provides the only permanent exhibition centre in the world devoted to Saint Patrick.

Rev. Father George Vakayil  was born in Konnammav, Ernakulam Dist on 12th Sep 1883. He was the second child of  Pily & Francisca . He received his priestly ordination in 1912. Died on 4th November 1931 at Muthedam.Declared servant of God  On 1st Sep 2013.
 
കൂനമ്മാവ് വാകയിൽ തറവാട്ടിൽ പൈലിയുടെയും ഫ്രാൻസിസ്കായുടെയും രണ്ടാമത്തെ പുത്രനായി 1883 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 12 നു   ജനിച്ചു. 1912  വൈദീകപട്ടം  സ്വീകരിച്ചു.
 
വിശുദ്ധമായ വൈദീക ജീവിതം നയിച്ച അദ്ദേഹം ഇടവകയുടെ ആത്മീയ ഉന്നമനത്തിനായും, സാമൂഹിക പ്രവൃത്തനങ്ങൾക്കും നേതൃത്വം നല്കി.
 
1931   നവംബർ 4 നു മരണമടഞ്ഞു. 2013 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 1നു അദേഹത്തെ ദൈവദാസനായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു.
