Fr Antony Thachuparambil was born in December 3, 1894 in Chalakudy and ordained as a priest in 1924 after completing his education in St Joseph College, Tiruchirapalli and a seminary in Thrissur.
Fr Antony Thachuparambil had been the Vicar of the Chelakara Parish from 1930 to 1963 and had worked for the uplift of the area spiritually, socialy and educationally. He died on June 6,1963 and was cremated in the Chelakkara church. . He popularly known as ‘Missionary of Chelakkara’,
Thrissur Arch Bishop Mar Andrews Tazhathu declared late Father Antony Thachuparambil a 'Servant of God' according to the consent of Vatican at a devotional function held at the St Mary's Forane Church at Chelakkaara in Thrissur district on June 9, 2009.
